He survived the attempt on his life, on Dec. 30, 1990, despite suffering wounds to his left arm and leg that required surgery. "Quote" The manhunt for the suspect believed to be behind the disappearance of a local woman has spread across the nation as evidence continues coming in. According to the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office, 45-year-old Brittany Jeniveve Tavar was last seen July 6. She lives on South Beach Drive north of Vilano Beach. When she was last seen, she was with 26-year-old Joseph Dean Roberts, a transient. He reportedly told her neighbors that he was Tavar's nephew, though he is not.
